The joy is on the
> Fear of the thing is cured by doing the thing
> Look someone straight in the eyes when you talk to them—boldly
> Radiate joy, cheerfulness, and abundance. Say hi to your neighbor and the supermarket cashier. Tell them you like their earrings. Keep a smile that draws attention. The universe is vibrations. If you vibrate good things, you attract good things
> Being curious is the best way to learn (“How does the microwave work?” “Why, if the temperature is the same, do I feel hot sometimes and cold other times?”)
> You feel ridiculous doing X until you get good at doing X. Create systems that help you develop X
> Trick your brain when you’re doing something tedious or complicated (“It’s hard, but how fun!”)
> Nobody is paying attention—free yourself from what you think people think of you
> Nobody is conspiring against you. You’re not a victim of anyone
> Don’t validate yourself through money or material things
> Spending time alone is purifying
> Looking at the sky when you walk is energizing. Looking at spiderwebs is more productive than looking at your phone
> Stopping to write down the ideas you get brings order to your thinking
> Comparing yourself to others is unfair to yourself
> Lifting weights and eating a lot changes your life
> Waking up at the same time every day fixes your head
> Always have a beautiful event to look forward to. Plan your vacations months in advance. Sign up for a marathon a few weeks out. Enroll in that exam
> Separate circumstance from essence. Circumstance is what has happened; essence is what you are. (“You’re clumsy” doesn’t mean “you are a clumsy person.”) Respect other people’s circumstances; they don’t affect their essence (who they are)
> Stop worrying about “potential”
> Words matter. Don’t say “I have to”—say “I want to.” It gives a sense of control. Be indulgent with yourself, and speak to yourself with respect (“you’re being clumsy,” not “you are clumsy”)
> Don’t be condescending
> Don’t be categorical
> Don’t insist
> Don’t expect anything in return
> Avoid whatever makes you sad. Double down on whatever makes your chest swell
> Do good things, good things will happen
